CSOs Conference in Uyo, Advocate For Local Government Autonomy

The 2025 Annual Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) Conference held on Monday 6th October, 2025 with the theme “THE STATE OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT ADMINISTRATION IN NIGERIA USING AKWA IBOM STATE AS A CASE STUDY,” organised by the Center for Human Rights and Accountability Network (CHRAN) at the CHRAN Conference Hall in Uyo.

The conference was chaired by the former National Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Emmanuel Enoidem, SAN. The Keynote Speaker was a Chief Lecturer in Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Dr Udeme Nana. The Guest of Honour was the member representing Ibiono Ibom in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Moses Essien.

The conference called for the urgent implementation of the autonomy for the local government in Nigeria, among others.
