CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS (CSOs) IN AKWA IBOM DISOWN AKWA IBOM CIVIL SOCIETY FORUM
It has come to our attention that one Mr. Harry Udoh goes about parading himself as the “Chairman of Akwa Ibom Civil Society Forum.” The information further has it that the said Harry Udoh also parades himself in such manner in public functions before unsuspecting members of the Akwa Ibom public.
After thorough investigations, series of meetings and consultations among members of Civil Society Organizations operating in Akwa Ibom State, we make the following declarations:
- That there is no umbrella civil society organization in Akwa Ibom State known or recognized as “Akwa Ibom Civil Society Forum.”
- That the civil society organizations in Akwa Ibom State have taken steps to ensure that the law enforcement agencies in Akwa Ibom State are put on notice.
- That members of the public should not transact any business or activity with him in that capacity as we do not have such organization operating in Akwa Ibom civil society space.
- That any one who deals with him in that capacity does so at his/her own peril as he does not speak for or represent the civil society organizations operating in Akwa Ibom State.
- That members of the civil society organizations in Akwa Ibom State do not recognize him or any group in the name of Akwa Ibom Civil Society Forum.
- That this publication is made to alert the unsuspecting members of the public, the security agencies, donor agencies and the Government of Akwa Ibom State.
